Welcome to the Jim Luther New Hope Center

Jim Luther New Hope Center is a choice food center that serves fresh and abundant staple foods. We proudly serve the Milwaukee South Side. All of the food we serve is FREE.

Location and Hours

We are located at 1414 W Becher St., Milwaukee WI 53215, in the church's school building. Our shopping entrance is at the door facing Becher street.

We are open for food distribution;

Tuesday from 12:30 - 2:30pm

Wednesday from 4:00 - 6:00pm

We provide fresh produce donated from local farmers, grocery stores, and food banks. 

We make it a priority to have an abundance of staple foods, such as milk, eggs, and bread.

We let you choose from the variety of food we have, so you get what you want.

  • How do I know if I'm eligible for food?
    Our clients must be below the federal poverty level plus 100%, determined by The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) Click here to see the guidelines
  • Can I get a Stockbox here?
    Yes! We are a Hunger Task Force Senior Stockbox site. Come during our shopping hours and tell our team you'd like to pick one up if you're eligible A Stockbox is a Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) as part of a government initiative to give low-income senior citizens (60+) additional food. The box includes typical staple foods, such as shelf stable milk, canned fruits and vegetables, cereal, rice/pasta, canned meat, and cheese. Click here to see if you are eligible for a Stockbox
  • How often can I receive food?
    Clients may receive food once each calendar month.
  • What kinds of food can I choose from?
    At Jim Luther New Hope Center, we offer a variety of goods that you get to choose from when you shop with us. Quantities are determined based on household size. Items available include, but are not limited to; - Canned vegetables, fruits, soups, protein (both animal and plant based) - Grains such as rice and pasta - Fresh produce - Bread - Frozen meat - Milk and other dairy items
  • What if I have a need outside of food?
    Jim Luther New Hope Center can provide support with emergency food, infant formula, diapers, and connections to jobs. For needs outside of these, call 211 to be connected with organizations that can help.
